Navy began its season 1-3, but reached bowl eligibility on the strength of a 5-game, midseason winning streak. Arizona State survived a late-season skid to earn wins in its final two games, first over Washington State and then a come-from-behind 24-point 4th quarter that enabled ASU to defeat cross-state archrival Arizona.
