Pac10 Pac10
Dear Friends of the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl,

We're one-third of the way through the 2012 college football season, and things are beginning to sort themselves out a bit. Last week provided a little more perspective on pretenders and contenders, who's for real and who's not, and potential surprise teams and disappointments.
SAN JOSE STATE [3-1, 0-0 WAC] @ NAVY [1-2, Independent] - Upstart Spartans make long Eastern trek to meet Midshipmen in Annapolis.
Dear Friends of the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl,

Another week, another big upset in the Pac-12. The top story in college football last Saturday played out in Palo Alto, where No. 21 Stanford upended No. 2 USC, 21-14.

VMI [1-2, 0-0 Big South] @ NAVY [0-2, Independent] - With losses to Notre Dame & Penn State, Midshipmen play first home game against FCS foe Virginia Military Institute [VMI].
Dear Friends of the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl,

So much for the lack of surprises in Week 1.
NAVY [0-1, Independent] @ PENN STATE [0-2, 0-0 Big Ten] - Midshipmen return to action following 50-10 loss to Notre Dame on season's opening week.

Dear Friends of the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl,

The opening weekend of the 2012 college football season was fairly quiet, with fewer upsets and last-second heroics than usual.
